This Wednesday (February 2), Bioparque hosted the second edition of the Western Paraná Aquaculture Symposium (SIMPOP) at the auditorium of the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), organized by Aqua In – Aqua Insumos, a startup residing within the Ecosystem that brings technological and innovative solutions from the sector to producers.
The event brought together fish farmers, technicians, research centers, and speakers to discuss topics related to the region. «The goal is to foster debates about the products and services available in this field, from medicines, additives, and equipment to vaccines, as well as product information with application dosages. Additionally, we brought in collaborating companies specifically to help producers address their doubts,» explains veterinarian and owner of Aqua In – Aqua Insumos, Nilton Ishikawa.
As the state that produces the most tilapia in Brazil, accounting for more than 34% of the country’s total volume, the event is of great significance to the region. «It’s an excellent initiative by Aqua In and Biopark. We can see that the public’s interest in the subject is enormous, with over 200 participants present. It’s as if we’ve bridged the gap between industry, producers, and academia,» praises João Fernando Koch, global technical manager at Biorigin.
For Paulo Almeida, Vice President of Biopark, organizing events with useful discussions and efficient solutions is one of the key differentiators that attract and retain companies within the Ecosystem. «It’s one of the benefits that Biopark offers and that helps companies grow. We believe this is a key point and something we strive to develop every day,» he concludes.
